Biography
Born and raised in what we know as the Green Mountain State, Rich Gonzales was exposed to hunting at 5 years old, when his father would tote him around in the truck in pursuit of trophy whitetail bucks. At the age of 13, Rich was introduced to archery hunting and was immediately hooked on big game and had an internal flame lit for the outdoors. His passions were set aside for a few years as he, took the Oath and joined the United States Air Force at 18 and began his career supporting our great nation. First serving in the Vermont Air National Guard, he later transferred to Hill AFB Utah, where he and his wife currently reside in North Ogden Utah.Once life was established in Utah, he realized that the fruit of his passions were right at his finger tips and discovered a love for archery elk, mule deer, and waterfowl hunting. The aspect of calling in animals especially bugling bulls was just fascinating to him and has since become an annual routine. In 2007 Rich harvested his first bull elk in the High Uintah Mountains. With the bull on ice in the coolers Rich decided to try and bag a buck with his good buddy Bernie on the way back home. While glassing for deer that day, Rich noticed a deer running across the canyon and was being chased by a coyote and that’s all it took. Being warned by his friend that if he ever were to hunt coyotes, there was a good possibility that he could be ruined of hunting anything else.
It wasn’t much longer after that very day when he was accompanying his friend on the ranch he was working on and got to witness a hard charging pair come across the meadow to the call coming from a Foxpro Fury. That was a day that changed him forever, especially once he sent that bullet cross canyon dropping his first song dog. For 12 years now the coyote fever has burned and Rich has harvested coyotes all over the United States along with being a competitive contest hunter. You can guarantee if it’s a road trip or a vacation his gun and Foxpro will be part of his luggage for any opportunity to make a few stands.
In the beginning years of predator hunting, Rich hunted with a Foxpro Fury that his friend would lend him until he was able to save up and purchase a Foxpro Fury 2 off of a predator hunting forum. He eventually upgraded to a Shockwave. Over time he ventured out and has hunted over other brands of E- calls but always has managed to go back to the reliable Foxpro. They produce the most state of the art calls in the predator hunting world, with all the bells and whistles supported by Class A customer service. As a novice or well-seasoned caller, Foxpro’s technology provides any predator hunter the upper hand during any situation faced on a hunt or even a contest. The opportunity to work with Team Foxpro has been something Rich has strived for, and he is stoked to represent the leader in the call industry while being able to connect with other outdoor enthusiast!
